Applications of Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC)

Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC), also known as Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC), is a white, grayish-white, or yellowish-white granule. It is a non-ionic cellulose ether produced by the reaction of ethylene oxide with methylcellulose, derived from natural renewable polymers such as wood pulp or cotton.

 

HEMC can be used as a highly efficient water retention agent, adhesives and film-forming agent, stabilizer, etc.

 

It is widely used in different industrial applications such as oil drilling, construction, and building, paint and coating, pharmaceutical, etc.

Cement Plaster:  

 

Cement plaster enhances homogeneity, making the mortar easier to apply while improving anti-sagging capabilities. It increases liquidity and pumpability, which boosts working efficiency. Additionally, its high water retention prolongs the working time of the mortar, facilitating the development of high mechanical strength during the curing process. By controlling air infiltration, it helps eliminate microcracks in the coating, resulting in an ideal smooth surface.

 

Gypsum Plaster:  

 

Gypsum plaster improves homogeneity, making the mortar easier to apply while enhancing anti-sagging properties to boost mobility and pumpability, thereby increasing work efficiency. Its high water retention extends the working time of the mortar and supports the development of high mechanical strength during curing. Additionally, it ensures a high-quality surface finish by effectively controlling the consistency of the mortar.

 

Masonry Mortar:  

 

Masonry mortar enhances surface adhesion and improves water retention, thereby increasing the strength of the mortar. It also improves lubrication and plasticity, enhancing construction performance. Using mortar made with "guaranteed" cellulose ether makes application easier and more time-efficient, improving cost-effectiveness. Models with specialized high water retention are ideal for use with highly absorbent bricks.

 

Filler Material:

 

The filler material offers excellent water retention, prolonging cooling time and enhancing work efficiency. Its high lubricity facilitates easier and smoother application. Additionally, it improves anti-contractility and crack resistance, resulting in better surface quality. It provides a smooth, uniform texture that enhances the cohesiveness of joint surfaces.

 

Tile Adhesive:

 

The tile adhesive ensures that dry mixing ingredients blend easily without clumping, saving valuable working time. Its quick and effective application improves construction efficiency and reduces costs. By extending cooling time, it enhances tiling efficiency and provides excellent adhesion. Special formulations with high anti-skid resistance are also available.

 

Self-Leveling Ground Material:

 

This material provides viscosity, acting as an anti-precipitation agent. It enhances liquidity and pumpability, improving flooring efficiency while controlling water retention to significantly reduce cracking and shrinkage.

 

Water-Based Paint and Paint Remover:

 

The shelf life is extended by preventing solid precipitation, and it offers excellent compatibility with other components along with high biostability. It dissolves quickly and uniformly, simplifying the mixing process. Cold water effectively disperses the product, facilitating quick and convenient mixing without clumping.

 

It generates favorable flow characteristics, including low spatter and good leveling, ensuring a fine surface finish and preventing paint from running. Additionally, it enhances the viscosity of water-based paint removers and organic solvents, preventing them from flowing off the surface of the workpiece.

 

Extruded Concrete Plank:

 

Enhance the processing performance of extruded products, with high bonding strength and lubrication.

Improve the adhesiveness of wet strength and sheet extrusion.
